What Is watchOS 4 And What Does It Have To Offer?

Apple’s upcoming operating system for the Apple Watch will make its debut this fall, with many people speculating Apple to release it to the public this September. So, what exactly will watchOS 4 bring to the Apple Watch? In this article, we’ll highlight all the features the new operating system has to offer.

The Activity app will give users personalized progress updates to keep users motivated in achieving their goals. Users will get daily notifications and an evening notification if they haven’t completed their goal. To keep users on track, Apple will add monthly challenges that are personalized to each user.

Want to quickly start a workout with a tap of a button? Well, the updated Workout app lets users start a workout with ease thanks to its quick start. There’s also High-Intensity Interval Training that monitors users motions and heart rates while accurately tracking the calories that are burned during the workout. Anyone who is an active swimmer will be pleased to know that the Workout app in watchOS 4 will automatically track sets and rests, pace for each set, and distance for each stroke type. Another cool feature is the ability for users to pair their Apple Watch with compatible gym equipment so users can sync data such as heart rates, pace and more with major gym equipment like Life Fitness and Technogym.

Users will also be able to switch between different workout types in a single session, and then receive a summary of all the important metrics at the end of the session. To help users stay focus during a workout, the Apple Watch will automatically turn on Do Not Disturb once users begin a workout so they won’t get distracted by calls or texts.

If you need a little music to keep you motivated, Apple has added an auto sync in watchOS 4, so you’ll be able to listen to the playlists that Apple Music suggests to you such as New Music Mix, Heavy Rotation, Favorites Mix and more all on your Apple Watch.

New watch faces are making their way to the updated operating system. The Siri watch face will provide users with current information such as traffic updates, weather, and appointments. There’s also a kaleidoscope watch face, and a Toy Story watch face which will feature Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie.

If you ever wanted to send your friends or family members money using your Apple Watch, the update will allow you to ask Siri to send money via Apple Pay. In addition, you can request and receive money via Messages. Anytime you receive money, your Apple Pay cash will be safely stored for you to later make purchases at the App Store or send a payment to someone.
