Apple plans to open a new store in Scottsdale, Arizona, and another store in the historic Carnegie Library in Washington D.C.

Looks like Apple has found a home for its upcoming Apple Store in Scottsdale, Arizona, the 100,000 square foot spacious area used to be home to the former Barney’s department store. The Scottsdale Fashion Square mall is the second highest profit mall per square foot of all the malls in United States. Apple already has a total of five existing stores in Arizona, another store in Scottsdale Quarter, one in Biltmore, Arizona, Chandler, Arizona, Gilbert, Arizona, and Glendale, Arizona.

Apple also plans to set-up home for another Apple store in the far east end of the U. S., this time in Washington D.C., not just any part of D.C., but Apple has its eye on the 113-year-old historic Carnegie Library for a ten-year lease, before anything begins, Apple has to be approved as a tenant by the Washington D.C.’s historical preservation panel. Once approved, Apple will hire Foster + Partners to redesign the 63,000 square foot space, the design will be similar to the San Francisco and London store.
