Apple has recently acquired the Vancouver based app development team Buddybuild, the new team will assist Apple in developing tools for iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
Buddybuild is now the latest group to come aboard in joining the growing family of Apple. Buddybuild 40-something employees will continue to stay based in British Columbia, Vancouver, while taking on the task of being rolled into Xcode, which is Apple’s suite of development tools for iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The specific timeline for the new company to start carrying out Apple’s assignments has not been disclosed at this time.
Buddybuild likes to describe itself as a “mobile iteration platform” which focuses on continuous integration and debugging tool, this allows the company to quickly and easily build apps through GitHub, BitBucket, and GitLab.
Starting March 1st, the company will no longer offer free starter plans and Android app development tools, but the company will remain available to existing customers to build, test, and ship iOS apps to testers through the company’s website buddybuilding.
