If you find yourself in possession of an iTunes gift card later this week, good news: iOS and Mac app developers are offering big discounts on some actually-pretty-good apps and games this week.

First, the folks at Realmac Software have teamed up with other developers to bring you "App Santa," a big sale on productivity apps. Highlights include Scanner Pro for $0.99 (normally $6.99), Launch Center Pro for $1.99 (normally $4.99), PCalc for $6.99 (normally $9.99), and Calendars 5 for $2.99 (normally $6.99). And while things are weighted pretty heavily in favor of iOS apps, there are a couple of good Mac apps on the list too, including Tweetbot for Mac for $6.99 (normally $9.99). There are more apps on the list, but those are some of the most interesting.

There are also more than a few games on sale; the folks at MacRumors have a good list of the highlights. You can grab some older indie darlings like Bastion ($0.99, down from $4.99) or Don't Starve: Pocket Edition ($2.99, down from $4.99), games from major publishers like Infinity Blade III ($0.99, down from $6.99) or Lara Croft GO ($1.99, down from $4.99), weird stuff like I Am Bread ($0.99, down from $4.99), or old classics like Final Fantasy VI and VII ($7.99 and $10.99 respectively, down from $15.99).
