If you don’t have an Apple Store near you, you may want to head to your local office supply store such as OfficeMax and Office Depot to get your iPhone’s battery replaced for only $27.99.
That’s right, OfficeMax and Office Depot have dropped the price of their battery replacement fee to compete with Apple’s own price drop.
While this may be a tempting offer for some users, it should be noted that these office supply stores are not Apple Authorized Service Providers, which means that the new batteries are not supplied by Apple and could ultimately void the iPhone warranty. However, the office supply companies do offer their own one-year warranty and promise to do a same-day turnaround battery replacement.
A little after Apple made the announcement of dropping the battery replacement price, other companies and services have been dropping their prices as well. Last month, iFixit dropped the price of its do-it-yourself iPhone battery replacement kits which ranges form $16.99 for the iPhone 4S kit to $29 for the iPhone 7 kit.
If you don’t mind having a third-party battery inside your iPhone and you don’t have an Apple Store nearby, Office Depot and OfficeMax are definitely worth checking out. The battery replacement prices at Office Depot and OfficeMax are good now through February 4.
