iPhone 8 Launch Day Lines Were Smaller Than Usual
Friday was the big launch day for Apple’s iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, however, the lines were unusually short compared to previous iPhone launch days.
Many reports confirmed that the lines outside of some Apple Stores were extremely short for the iPhone 8 models. One report pointed out that fewer than 30 people were waiting outside of the Apple Store in Sydney. Normally, Apple’s Sydney store has hundreds of people at an iPhone launch.

A new iPhone model can usually draw a large crowd with many people spending nights in front of an Apple Store. In California, a reporter posted a photo of herself standing outside of an Apple Store with no one waiting overnight. Oddly enough, California wasn’t the only one missing iPhone fans, Brisbane, Leicester, London, and Ottawa, also had scarce lines.

However, there were a few Apple Store locations that did draw a larger crowd. Apple’s World Trade Center store and Fifth Avenue store in New York saw large crowds, as well as the Apple Store in Singapore.

So, what’s the reason for fans not showing up? It seems many fans are waiting for Apple’s OLED iPhone X which is expected to be released on November 3rd. If you’re interested in the iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus, both devices are now available for purchase.
