Both phones have the Touch ID fingerprint scanner in the Home button and have an IP67 water and dust resistance rating. The iPhone 7 was the first iPhone to sport stereo speakers, but Apple decided to take it a little further with the iPhone 8 model by enhancing the volume by 25 percent compared to the iPhone 7.

Display & Performance

As for the display, both the devices sport a 4.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display, and a 1334 x 750 pixel resolution with 326 ppi.

The iPhone 8 has Apple’s A11 Bionic chip, Six-Core CPU, Six Core GPU, M11 motion coprocessor, and 2GB of RAM. This means the iPhone 8 is 25 percent faster than the iPhone 7 when using the high-performance cores and has a 30 percent faster graphics performance. The iPhone 7 has Apple’s A10 Fusion chip and an M10 motion coprocessor, which is still really fast. Before the iPhone 8 came out the iPhone 7 was considered the world’s fastest smartphone.
