Checking the Developer page on Apple’s website, iOS 9’s adoption has grown by four percent within two weeks. The strong adoption is said to be contributed to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, which features Live Photos, 3D touch and more.
Apple’s latest iOS 9 operating system is now running on a total of 61% of all active iOS devices, which includes the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch. This news comes directly from Apple’s official Developer page, which display how many devices are running their current operating system.
Looking back two weeks ago, iOS 9 was powering 57% of devices, meaning that it grew by four percentage points from October 19, 2015. Looking over to iOS 8, the previous operating system is now powering 30% of iOS devices, while iOS 7 and Earlier account for nine percent of iOS devices that are activate, as seen below.
The numbers let us know that iOS 9 adoption continues to grow steadily, even after six weeks following its public release last month. As noted above, many analyst say that iOS 9’s growth is mostly contributed to the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. In addition, it ties into what Phil Schiller had noted last month, as seen below.
“iOS 9 is also off to an amazing start, on pace to be downloaded by more users than any other software release in Apple’s history.”
With that said, are you currently running iOS 9? If so, are you on the latest version of iOS 9.1 or are you on a previous build of the operating system? Let us know in the comments below.
