Don’t text and drive, send voice messages with Chatbaka

Texting while driving isnt just dumb, its downright dangerous. There are apps out there that will stop you from being able to use your iPhone while youre on the roll, but what if you absolutely need to keep in touch with friends, family, and other loved ones? Chatbakais available on the App Store to help you manage those important conversations hands-free.

Integrated with your cell phone number

When you first launch Chatbaka, it will prompt you to enter your cellular phone number. The app sends you a confirmation code to ensure you got the digits right, and then is supposed to sendall of the messages using your telephone number. My experience showed the messagescoming from a different phone number, however.

No texting while driving

Chatbaka detects when youre driving, and disables the keyboard within the app. Instead, you push the big red microphone button and record your message. Your contact, if they have the app, gets notified within Chatbaka. If they dont have Chatbaka installed, theyll get a normal SMS message, transcribed from your voice, along with the audio clip recorded when you dictate your message. The appalso integrates with hands-free devices, allowing you to be even safer while you drive.

Receiving messages

When a new message comes in while youre driving, Chatbaka will read that message to you. You can reply, once again by pressing the big red microphone button, meaningyou dont have to look down at your keyboard to reply tothe message. It doesn’t take over your regular messaging, though, so only messages either sentusing the appor by reply to a message from itwill be received inChatbaka.

Start voice messaging instead of texting

Chatbaka is designed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and requires iOS 7 or later. It is available as a free download on the App Store, without advertisements or in-app purchases.
