First up, Skype has moved to version 6.5. Microsoft has added some fun filters for the video message feature.
To begin, select the filter wand at the bottom left of the video message. After youve found the perfect filter, hit record to begin.
The iPhone version of the app also fully supports 3D Touch. You can long press the Skype icon on your home screen to access a number of Quick Actions like search contacts, start a call or chat, and access the Skype dial pad.
Inside the app, long press a recent conversation to Peek in and see the content. An even harder press will Pop it into a full screen. While in a conversation, if someone share a location, photo, URL, or contact, you can also Peek and Pop that information.
The update also allows users to hide and delete chats and share contacts. Heres more from a recent Skype blog post:
Hide and delete chats from your Recent conversations by swiping the contact or tapping Edit, then choosing if you want to delete the entire chat history or simply hide it from your Recent list. You can also delete the entire chat history from within the conversation using chat menu.
Share a Skype contact by tapping the contact card icon in a conversation to open your contact list. Then simply select the contact you want to share, tap the tick icon and youre done.
3D Touch in a Snap(chat)
And Snapchat is also getting in on the 3D Touch fun with an update to version 126.96.36.199. Simply press down on the Snapchat home screen icon to send a quick chat message or to add a new friend.
The update also brings a trio of filters – slow-motion, fast forward, and rewind.Snapchat is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be downloaded now for free.
