Just a week before the revamped Apple TV officially hits the market, three new channels have been added to the service. CBS All Access, NBC, and Made to Measure are now available on the current third-generation boxes and will also be accessible from the new version of the device.
Subscribers can view episodes of current CBS shows like The Big Bang Theory and NCIS on-demand and also have access to previous seasons of shows and classic TV. You can also stream a number of live CBS feeds from stations across the country. The service is also available through a companion iOS app.
Like a number of other channels on the Apple TV, youll need to sign in through a cable TV provider to access most of the content of the NBC channel. Youll be able to viewa number of on-demand shows from the network.
Finally, Made to Measure is exclusively on the Apple TV and features fashion-oriented content.
Late last night, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the new set top box will be available for order in more than 80 countries beginning Monday, Oct. 26. The new Apple TV will begin shipping by Friday, Oct. 30.
The fourth-generation device is powered with a modern A8-series chip. It also offers 2GB of RAM and features 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 support.Apps, and especially games, are a major focus of the new device.
There will be two different versions available to purchase a 32GB edition for $149 and a 64GB boxfor $199. The third-generation box will still be available for $69, but it wont offer any of the new features.
