Apple has already begun construction on the new retail outlet Apple store, the 20,000 square foot riverfront store should complete at a cost of $63 million.
This latest Apple store under construction in Chicago’s North Michigan Avenue riverfront Magnificent Mile shopping district is one of Apple’s most expensive United States retail building being constructed now at the cost of around $63 million. This grand glass-walled structure will sit off the riverwalk. It’s said it will have two grand staircases, and an elevator leading down to a sales floor with an entry glass pavilion. Talk is this store will boast of expensive materials inside the store as well as on the outside, it is said that a carbon fiber roof on the entry foyer will be used.
A construction permit was issued Friday, even though the site has been under construction now for some time, this new building will replace the older Apple store at 679 N. Michigan Ave., which has been in its location since 2003. At this time no official opening date has not been announced.
