The Apple Watch Series 3 is the companies first Apple Watch that can operate independently from the iPhone, it will require a data plan if operated without the iPhone.
Today was the big event day at Apple’s new main campus in Cupertino, California. Inside the new Steve Jobs Theater, the new Watch Series 3 would get its kick-off, along with three iPhones, and a new version of the Apple TV.
The new Apple Watch Series 3 will be available for pre-orders on September 15th, and will go on sale to the general public on September 22. The new Watch is said to start at $329 without cellular, with cellular it will start at $399. The four largest wireless companies in America will offer a special of three months free, and afterwards will charge $10 a month for the data plan for the Watch Series 3.
The Watch casing will be the same as the Watch Series 2, which is 38mm and 42mm, the color options offered are a new gold aluminum finish, space gray aluminum finish and silver. Several new Watch color straps will make their debut soon as well.
The Watch Series 3 will be able to receive calls, (an electronic SIM card is inside the Watch) send messages, and stay connected on-line for app usage as well. A faster dual core processor is said to be used, as well as a new W2 wireless chip. The Watch does require Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection to an iPhone if using without a mobile plan. Its operating system is watchOS 4, the watchOS 4 update should assist users in their workout sessions, the music app, and all day assistance in planning their day.
An update with Siri will make it more communicable to respond to questions with voice chat. Music lovers can now listen to its Beats 1 radio station live. Moreover, improvements have been made in health and fitness tracking and Personal Payment will be added soon once the iOS 11 update comes.
