Apple Offers A Free Keyboard Repair Program For Some MacBook and MacBook Pro

Recently Apple Announced it would cover the cost of repairs on some of its MacBook and MacBook Pro keyboards models under its new repair program.

Apple has officially admitted there is an issue with certain model MacBook and MacBook Pro butterfly construction on its keyboard. Just recently a class action lawsuit was filed against Apple for this very issue. The company has now launched a new free keyboard repair program for certain models.

The models listed are said to be eligible for the free repair program, the MacBook (Retina, 12-inch early 2015), MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, early 2016), MacBook (Retina, 12-inch 2017), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, with two Thunderbolt 3 Ports), MacBook Pro (13-inch 2017, with two Thunderbolt 3 Ports), MacBook Pro (13-inch 2016, with four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), MacBook Pro (13-inch 2017, with four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), MacBook Pro (15-inch 2017) models.

Customers who believe their laptop has been affected by this issue have the option to either take the laptop to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or an Apple retail store, to verify if the laptop is eligible for the free repair program. Service would include either the replacement of one or more keys or the entire keyboard. The repair replacement program would cover four years after the original purchase date.
