Apple has finally jumped aboard the social media craze by opening its own Instagram account showcasing the amazing camera on the iPhone.

The company’s Apple Music accounts on FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram are active and have millions of followers on them. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with the company’s official accounts, even though Apple has a FaceBook and Twitter account, the company isn’t very active on them. However, all of that just might change.

The Cupertino-based company unveiled its Instagram account on Monday and has uploaded a series of slideshows that highlight the iPhone’s camera. Apple’s Instagram feels more like a campaign for its “Shot on iPhone” since below each post and in the account description, Apple uses the #ShotoniPhone hashtag to encourage other to participate.

None of the photos have been taken by Apple, instead, the company features photos from other iPhone users on Instagram. Apple plans to use its account by using the gallery format to showcase five creators at a time and videos to show interviews with the creators, Apple credits each post back to the original account.
