Tor Myhren, a new face at Apple who will take on a the role of Vice President of Marketing Communications in 2016, has issued a statement talking about his previous role at Grey Worldwide and his new opportunity at Apple. From AdAge:
"My eight years at Grey aren't just the best years of my career, they've been the best years of my life," said Mr. Myhren in a statement. "I have treasured every single minute of working side by side with my mentor and friend Jim Heekin. There are no words to express how proud I am of what we built together."
As for his new gig, "Apple has had such a positive influence on my life, and has helped shape and inspire my creativity more than any other product on the planet," he said. "I am humbled to be joining Tim and the team."
As AdAge notes, during his time at Grey, Myhren helped concoct some of the more notable ad campaigns in recent years with ETrade's talking baby and DirecTV's recent "Cable Effects" campaign. Myhren is set to replace Hiroki Asai, who headed up graphic design and communications roles at Apple before announcing plans to retire after 18 years at Apple.
