Personal Pickup allows customers to make orders for specific Apple products online and have them shipped and delivered to a nearby retail store for pickup. This is now available for customers who live in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands.
First reported by blog site Macerkopf.de, customers who live in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands should now see the option ‘Personal Pickup’ for supported products during checkout. In addition, this should be at both the Apple Online Store and within the company’s official iPhone and iPad shopping app.
Some, but not all products can be ordered with Personal Pickup, this includes different models of the Mac, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch. Moreover, once selected, Personal Pickup makes a customer’s order available for in-store pickup the same day, and on some occasions the next day.
Customers who placed an order will be notified via email or SMS when their order is ready for pickup, and must show a driver’s licence, a government issued ID or another type of photo ID.
Lastly, the latest expansion of Personal Pickup follows the original launch, which was back in 2011 for the U.S., and a month ago for Australia, Canada and the UK.
