It seems that Microsoft has documents on its Microsoft download page which reveals the company just might be working on a Touch Cover for one of Apple’s iPads.

Documents that were published by Microsoft back in April 2017, which was titled “An iPad Touch Cover” listed for model number 1719, was listed as a device which contained a lithium battery. Because the device listed contains a lithium battery, it also would have the possibility of allowing wireless connectivity with the combination of using a Touch Cover. The Touch Cover could also act as a keyboard and a protective cover.

Microsoft first sold the Touch Covers for its Surface tablets, which served as a two-fold purpose, a pressure-sensitive keyboard, and a protective cover. The covers magnetically click into place and have a standard keyboard layout, shortcut keys, and a two-button touchpad that support gestures. Because at this point Microsoft or Apple have not confirmed if the Touch Cover will be used in the future with Apple’s iPad, it is unknown if the Touch Cover would operate exactly like it does on the Surface tablet.
