Getting a new device can be exciting, especially if it’s the latest iPhone 7 or 7 Plus. If you have recently upgraded or received one as a gift, we’ll tell you how to set it up.

Setting Up Your iPhone

After turning on the iPhone and pressing the Home button, you will be asked to select your language and country. After choosing your preferred language, you will be asked to connect to a Wi-Fi network, iTunes, or cellular network to activate your phone.

In the next step, you will be asked to set up your Touch ID and passcode. For those who are new to the Apple family, Touch ID allows you to unlock your device and make purchases using your fingerprint. The six-digit passcode will help you to protect your data and access features such as Apple Pay. If you prefer not to set up a six-digit passcode, you will have the option to set a four-digit passcode or no passcode by simply tapping the Passcode Options.

At this point, you will have four options to choose from: Restore from iCloud Backup, Restore from iTunes Backup, Set Up as new iPhone, and Move Data from Android. If you want to restore your data, tap on the option that best meets your needs.

The next step is to sign in with using your Apple ID and setting up your iCloud Drive. If you don’t have an Apple ID, you can tap Don’t Have an Apple ID or Forgot it?, if you plan on using more than one Apple ID you can tap Use Different Apple IDs for iCloud & iTunes?

Now you will have to set up your iCloud Drive, Apple Pay, iCloud Keychain, and Siri. Once you’ve set up your information it’s time to customize your Home button. You will be able to set up how you want the Home button to respond to you whenever you press it.

The next step gives you the ability to choose if you want the app icons and text to be zoomed (meaning larger) or have the standard fit. After choosing your text and icon size, tap Get Started to finish the set up process.

Now that your done setting up your new iPhone, have fun changing the wallpaper, ringtones, and even deleting the stock apps to make room for the apps you desire.
